The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the president's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.
More than 2,000 Coastal Carolina University students were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester. Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher during the semester. CCU has a student population of 10,600.
Coastal Carolina University has announced that 814 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2017 Fall Semester. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and must be enrolled full time.
The Surry Community College President's List recognizes students who are enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours of college level coursework and maintain a 3.8 grade point average for the semester with no final grade lower than a "C." Students on the President's List also qualify for the Dean's List.

A dozen Coastal Carolina University students were awarded cash prizes during the Undergraduate Research Competition that included nearly 120 presentations across 30 academic majors. The competition was held April 11-12 and the winners were announced April 17.
More than a dozen Coastal Carolina University students have been inducted into the university's chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, an honor society which partners with colleges and universities to celebrate the scholarship and leadership of adult students in higher education.
Each academic department at Coastal Carolina University selects one student to win the departmental award each year, and that student is recognized at Honors Convocation, this year held on May 3. This year, more than 50 graduate and undergraduate students were recognized with this honor. Departmental awards recognize outstanding academic accomplishments by students as well as contributions to the academic quality of the department. Candidates are nominated and selected by the college faculty.
